Opening files and placing them in Photoshop as layers...

Hi,

I have a very basic question. I want to place several render passes from my 3d software to Photoshop. My problem is, I can't seem to place them together as layers. How do I do that? I put the first picture in and it becomes the background. I know to click on it and it will become a layer (0) but how do I add another picture as a layer under or over this layer?

Go to file > script > load files into stack should then let you browse and select all the files you want imported.

if it is animation you want then just export the video as a quicktime or AVI file from 3d software then in photoshop go to file > import video frame to layers. easier than having to play with the frame timings etc.
 
File > automate>photomerge if you want to stich several files together however if it is a complicated image you will be better of using the script and manually positioning the layers. why not Just render it out as a png, Tiff, Jpeg etc straight from your 3d program.
 
Open the first image in PS.
Then drag the additional images one at a time into PS.
Each image will become a new layer.
Move them up or down until they're in the proper order.
 
That's it Steve. That's what I want to do. Line them up in order as layers. But when I place each layer down, it covers all the others. I want to be able to see them in a row.
 
Then you want to go to file > automate > photo merge and select panaramic as suggested back in post 5
 
So that's not it.
If want to view them side by side and they are overlapping shots that can be stitched together follow Hoogle's instructions.
If they're not similar photomerge won't work.

Then do what I said in Msg 6, then change the canvas size to the total width of all the layers combined and slide them around into the right order.
