Overpixelation!?

Hi all. I'm having a bit of a problem. When I try to make logos, either using text or vectors, they become pixelated around the edge. Yes, I've tried changing the anti-aliasing, and the feather radius is 0.5 but it looks rough and professional when I've zoomed in a little bit. Any ideas on how to deal with this?
(Yes, I know the vector example is really random and messed up.

Try working on a larger canvas...Rather than a small canvas and then zooming in.

I had that problem with a free font no matter what I did, some fonts on the web would not pass the stink test

Ah thanks, I'm using 1000 pixel canvases, do they really need to be bigger?

Photoshop is Not Illustrator. Vector is King.

Anyway, Convert Your project to 300 dpi and you won't be as disappointed.
