Going to dip into my savings and make the purchase a reality
My question is do i also purchase a external hard drive to run it from or shall i let my PC try and handle it?

Yeah i got a bog standard desk top with about 500Gb doing nothing (spare), do i use some of that up or just put it onto a separate drive?

3 kB iirc then what ever need to run it the ram is the problem i have 3 gig i think and seems to haldle most task i chuck at it

You have plenty of space if you have a spare 500GB
If you want another drive why not add an internal drive if you have an open bay.
For $69 you're getting a USB 2 drive, very slow.

Put PS on the primary and use the secondary in part as a scratch drive.

Adobe recommends that the primary scratch disk is a different hard disk from the one that the OS uses as a startup drive.

If youu cann wait 10 months that is predicted launch of next version. which means 3 months time jjanuarry the price will be lowereddd from adobee itself. Also if dipping into savings turn computer into 64 bit oos and more than 4 gb of ram. for far better performance. more so if you want other adobe products that will only run in 64 bit ie after effects. I think adobe just had deal on with adobe illustrator and photohop 2 for the same price i got email not sure if worldwide offer or just current adobe registered accounts????

yes it was him, he is flat on his back so hard to type. He is also refusing to rest and thinks the more active he is the quicker he will get back into shape and get discharged. He also thinks they will let him go home in the morning but Doctors are saying otherwise. He is about to be transferred to his own private room and of ICU ward, Is responding well however really can not talk much sense let alone type lol.

Actually, we kinda jumped him one day, razzed him good and he's actually using some punctuation. Of course, his spelling was better before this hospitalization
