Please help with lasso tool

Hello there,

I am not as familiar with photoshop as I should be. I am trying to take a image from one picture to move to another picture using the lasso tool I keep trying to use the lasso tool and when I'm done it automatically resizes its self to a size I don't want. How do I get it to stay the size I put it at. My goal is to fade the edges and then slide it over to another picture but the whole picture slides over instead of the lasso section. Thanks in advance

Make a selection on the source image, then copy (ctrl+c). On the target image paste (ctrl+v).

And "Fade the edges" is called "Feather" in photoshop. Under Select>Modify>Feather.

If it "resizes" I guess you have different sizes of those two picture, so you need to scale the selection or resize the picture.
