I was working on a PSD for hours. Had a meeting and put my PC in Stand By. During this time, Windows decided to install updates and Shut Down the computer after updates installed. Started PC and opened Photoshop and all my work is gone. Any chance this was automatically saved?

I think your out of luck sorry! Don't see this as a bad thing, think of it as a learning experience, now you know to always save your work before leaving your desk :)

Photoshop is not like word in that you can not recover unsaved documents or in this case psds. That's why you should save your work often in photoshop.

Unfortunately, they are all right. There is no Auto-save function in PhS as there is in After Effects or Open Office and lots of others. Strange but true and why there's not beats me. Hey Adobe - are you listening ??? !!!

Learn this shortcut - Ctrl/Cmd + S ( = Save ) - and make it part of your basic instincts so that every time you leave the desk you hit that shortcut first. Also make sure you hit it every now and then since Photoshop is far from perfect. It may crash at any time...
