Hi,
Just joined the boards and have a few questions and such. I have no background or formal education pertaining to photoshop or design. I downloaded it and went from their about 2 months ago.

I do a lot of cutting subjects out of pictures to super impose them on a custom bg. So I picked up a $99 wacom bamboo pen/pad from the store.

I'm not used to the feel quite yet, the hover is kinda odd. Seems like it could save me some time and hand aches tho over the mouse.

Anyone else use the mid line bamboo pad, thoughts, reviews, etc..?

I don't really suggest getting the bamboo tablet, As they may be over-sensitive.
I broke my first one in about 2-3 months time because I over-used it.
So, after that I purchased a cheaper generic brand tablet Which has been operational for over 6+ months so far.
And, it does the same thing as the name brand so...
I am very happy with my generic tablet if you are wondering the brand name it is "DigiPro" 8"X6" tablet.
Also, It does take some getting used too... As at first it does feel like it has a mind of it's own... you will get use to it.
 
I've been using Wacom tablets for years and have never had a failure. Actually I've always sold my old units when I upgraded. Intuo tablets are warranted for 2 years. The Bamboo is warranted for 1 year, so if someone's failed in 2-3 months they could have gotten it fixed or replaced for free.
 
I'm going to play around with it and prolly return it but idk, i've got a massive cutting session today. I'm going to see if it eases the stress on my hand/shoulder and how much time it saves me.
 
If you are serious about Photoshop, you need a pen tablet. A mouse will never give you the precise control and flexibility you get from a pen tablet. Not to mention pressure sensitivity.

They ain't all dat, not as good has a pair of new shoes just broke in that don't hurt anymore (in my opinion) :)
