Simplifying/Stylizing - Help needed!

Hi,

I created this image a year or so ago, I then had it digitally printed on t-shirts.

This season, I am looking at getting new t-shirts made, instead of having it printed I would want to get it embroidered, I therefore need to greatly simplify the image.

Basically, I dont know where to start, I have never been great with the creative aspect this kind of thing... Below is some questions/ramblings/thinking out loud:

  • Is there any way you think this could work in a single colour? (or how many colours minimum)
  • On the current t-shirts this image is across the back, my initial idea was to get the image on the left chest, in which case it would be much smaller (and simplifying/stylizing would be more important)
  • Basic thoughts I've had have been the horizon part in the form of the images below, in a single colour, then work out some way to add in the sunlight

Need some ideas of how I might go about this task, any help would be appreciated.

those are pretty small images to use for print, but those could be reworked to get to there. They could be ready for print easy enough though

Not sure what you mean, I only posted the last two images to give an idea about what I was thinking for the horizon part of the image, I am only thinking about a concept at this point rather than actually getting something ready to be printed.

SeniorS - thanks for the idea, might be worth a look at but at the moment I would like to try and get something along the lines of the original image.

Anyone else got any ideas?

Thank you dv8_fx and SeniorS for the inspiration, I like parts from both of your images.

Going to have another crack at this in the next few days, will come back with what I come up with.

If anyone has any further ideas please post them. Thanks.
