Hey guys,

I'm still working on improving my photo repair skills and I've been given this photo as a test of my ability.

I'm hoping for some advice but I don't want it done for me.

So that is the original. I ended up clearing it up a little with contrast and curves and the like. But the stain on the side is just beyond my abilities at the moment.

I googled some things trying to find out different things. I checked the different channels of the photo to see if there is a channel with more information but it doesn't really seem to too have that much.

I would really appreciate some insights as to how you go about this kind of thing.

Thanks guys!

Copy pasted right eye reduced new copy slightly maneuvered into position, the rest will be a combination of copy paste and clone stamp tools.

This is just the eye repeated and layered over the rubbish on the original.
eyes.jpg further altering of lighting and maybe doing a sight burn would blend it greater.

I have never done a restore project and I am still well under a year of experience, but I thought I would give this a try. I can give you a PSD to follow along to see how I did this. I am sure that many others here will do a much better job though.

Hi Triste. Glad you liked it. I am far from a professional and as previously mentioned many here could have done better and most likely easier. I can post the PSD if that works for you. Do you or anyone else here know if that is ok by forum rules to post the PSD?Thanks

With this photo, there happens to be a lot more information in the blue channel. If you copy the blue channel as a separate layer and change it to luminosity( found that out by playing around with layer modes) you get quite a bit odf detail back including the missing eye.
Just throwing my .5 cents there out as something to try. (I was going to raise it to .20 cents for inflation but my stock prices just bottomed out and that all my advice is worth anymore. ) :)

Had some time today, so I took a shot at this one. Mostly all mixer brush work, not very many automatic adjustments.
