Model Retouch (WITH VIDEO)


I would love to see your tutorial video.... But my broadband quota is used up and my connection is daaaamn slow.

Judging from the before and after, a lot will learn from your knowledge. The re-work and touch-ups look great.

Unless you know how to do all of those changes before hand the video doesn't really help. For me some things I recognized and others I did not but the remake is really good and the video was certainly fun to watch. Thanks for sharing.
 
its not meant to be a tutorial lol its for entertainment purposes. there are a bunch on youtube, they're fun to watch for me anyway lol. but thanks.
 
outstanding job, man! You obviously are very talented Photoshop expert. I really enjoyed the video as well and I thought your selection of music was excellent as well. (I guess I like anything with a backbeat!) actually, this type of skill can bring you in some serious money if you know how to market yourself well enough. Vanity photographs are an excellent target market and you seem to have the skills and the abilities to bring out just the right qualities of the people that you are working with. Anyway I thought it was a great video and your work on the photograph was excellent.

Here is my quick tutorial on how I achieved similar results
first took original image and enriched the blacks using levels
2nd painted out left with a black brush
3 used the spot healing brush to remove blemishes etc
4 picked a skin colour and painted over some of the skin using a very soft and low opacity brush
5 create new layer and painted lips in desired colour select layer mode to colour adjusted layer opacity/fill/hue saturation to desired effect
6 repeated step 5 for eye
7 repeated step 5 for eye shadow
8 flatten all layers to make 1
9 duplicate layer
10 on duplicate layer >filter>blur>gaussian blur and set to 2 pixels but you can choose the desired focus
11 on the gaussian blur layer apply layer mask and using a fairly hardish brush painted in front hand, lips , eyes nose outline and hair/ ear
and that is basically it the rest is down to personal preference sorry to use your image but thought it would be clearer to see results and understand what I was sayingI know it is not exactly the same but it is a good starting point for more of you to get creative I hope it helps those who wanted a tutorial

just trying to be constructive here but she looks a bit to plastic for my tastes. If you use the spot healing brush in addition with dodge and burn you could get a smooth look while retaining skin texture.

Thats all personal preference. However you could just use a skin brush, they have 100's of them out there. But I personally, and most of the people I work with like that smooth flawless texture. But I appreciate your words.

Here is my take , I have tried to retain a more realistic look , I like your tutorial and work but I think you should have only tuned the areas that needed tuning instead of masking the whole skin area with the same filter.
