    Text not sharp / clean

Yes I can turn off the anti-alias but then that causes a different problem for the end result. If I want clean white text without bleeding on an image that needs to be compressed would Illustrator be better than Photoshop? Thanks...

    Text not sharp / clean

If I ask Photoshop for white # fff pixels it would be nice if I got some kind of warning about this such as "sorry I can't do pure white text - I need some pixels for bleeding". Anyway suppose I have #fff white text on a #000 black background on a web page like this - would this...

    Text not sharp / clean

Yes that helps thanks. I have attached a pixel view of the letters "Ip" and I can see that the bleeding pixels are always the same position but their colour changes according to the colour of the background. In fact there are more bleeding pixels than #fff pixels...

    Text not sharp / clean

Yes I think you are right - the text in my original attachment is #fff but to actually look more like #fff it needs a stronger / darker background. By the way with white text on a black background I would expect this image to have only two colours ie #fff and #000 so I am surprised to see that...

There are only two layers and yes both are opacity = 100%, blend mode = normal. Thanks...

    Text not sharp / clean

Hi all, In the attached CS6 file, the text colour is #fff, regular and anti-alias sharp and the background is plain (no effects etc). So there should be a strong contrast between the text colour and the background colour but it seems to my eyes that the text look a bit dull, out of focus and...

    Rounded corners without jagged edge

It says here re the Rounded Rectangle tool in CS5 that I need to check the "Snap to Pixels" option - I can't see this option in CS6 so do I need to do this? Thanks...

    Rounded corners without jagged edge

Ok sorry I meant a link to the video tutorial not to the thread. Do you mean this post by sprucemagoo1 - if so I can see a jpg screenshot but not a video tutorial. Thanks...

    Rounded corners without jagged edge

Hi all, I want to have rounded corners on my boxes something like this (ie corners are smooth not jagged). So I make a selection with the rectangular marquee tool then select / modify / smooth 4 pixels, new layer via copy then save the new layer as a png. But on my saved png each corner has...

    My favorite photoshop tools!

I tried this in CS6. It looks good here but it doesn't seem to work for me - psd with one layer filled with colour and the only css I get back is width x height. :(

    Gradient how to

Re my original attachment I can see there is some kind of gradient but it is hard to say what it is (maybe because the shades of blue are close together). With eye-dropper you can see it has many shades of blue (maybe hundreds??). Ok so do you mean it is gradient picker = foreground (lighter...

    Gradient how to

Yeah I have done that but I still find that the gradient is kinda obvious ie you can see the start and end of the gradient tool. I wondered if there was an alternative to dragging in a straight line (like maybe a curve) but I guess not. Anyway I will keep trying... Thanks

    Gradient how to

Looking at your square I can maybe just about see that the blue is lighter at the top and then gets darker moving to the bottom - is that what you mean by 'linear gradient that is almost perfectly horizontal'? Anyway the movement of the colour is quite subtle / hard to identify which is what I...

    Gradient how to

@ Vetoed thanks so do you mean it is gradient picker foreground to background and gradient linear? But how do I change the angle to the right? There are a lot of shades of blue but of course the change is not something obvious like left to right or top to bottom or an obvious radial. Thanks

    Gradient how to

Hi all, Any ideas please for how I can get a gradient something like the attached eg which gradient picker (I don't think it is foreground to background) and which gradient (I don't think it is linear) or any other suggestions? Thank you :)
