Hi this is my 1st post here and I'm pretty new to photoshop.
I'm trying to copy a pattern on a baby blanket in a photo, there was someone holding the baby and I was able to cut out the hands, and replace it with a general color from the eyedropper tool but now it just doesn't look right with the solid color. I tried to use the spot healing brush and coax the pattern onto the solid color but to no avail. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

if you post the image I'm sure lots will have ideas for you........Welcome to PsG

AS you can see it looks really creepy with yellow invisible hands

I added the green line to tell where the jacket stops and the blanket starts

try using the smudge tool, at about 45% and in color mode in that area......... work it slow as you blend it in
actually use the clone tool I just tried........ it should work better

i will recommend first create a selection of all the area that you are trying to fix then using the "clone stamp tool" to copy a wide area from original the texture inside the selection and then use the spot healing brush to fix the the imperfections on the pattern.

Also instead of creating a selection of the area to be fixed you can also use a "layer mask"

here's an example
