How do I open all of the layers of a PSD file in Image Ready?

I have CS2.

I have created a series of layers that I would like to animate. At this point all of these layers are in the form of a psd file within CS2. How can I open this psd file in ImageReady and have access to all of the layers.

When I try it now, I end up only seeing one layer in ImageReady.

Thanks.

DO NOT merge or flatten layers save all as they are in a stack and save as PSD file then open image ready they will appear mate.

Belial,
Thank you for responding. Unfortunately, that was the first thing I tried that didn't work.

I have the image saved as an unflattened psd with all of it's layers intact. I then go to the "Edit In ImageReady" tab and hit that. The file then opens in ImageReady with only one layer showing. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

don't click edit in image ready just click files in image ready and open the file you just saved in photoshop first.

Scrub that have you opened the animation suite in the drop downs, if you have you will only have one image open in animation train, the other images should all be there in the stack on the right, you will have to create a new image within animation train by clicking the little box in a box next to the rubbish bin icon, then turn off layers in right hand stack to correspond with train images, if that makes any sense,

I just finished trying that route. Same thing. It still opens as just one frame even when I open the saved file from within ImageReady.

Ok cool mate, we have a rule here NO help to dodgies.

you should turn all visibility of the layers off except the background but not familiar with image ready I assume you can run it in frames. once you have all your layers done select animate and it should take all the layers above the background and animate them as each layer being a frame if you upload your psd I can take a look at it just upload it the same you would an image in quick reply mode

I just figured out a way to do.

I opened the psd in "Photoshop Elements", saved for web, used the animate ticker and saved as an animated gif. I was then able to open THAT file in Image Ready. This gets the job done but it sure seems like there should be an easier way.

I had tried saving the psd file from within PS as a gif and then tried opening that in ImageReady and that hadn't worked.

I had also tried "saving for web" from within PS but that doesn't end up giving you the animate option.

No you ave to do it as an image only save for web a gif file is like a jpeg but without the animation coding it will just show 1 frame that is what the save for web does it puts the details in so it knows what time and sequence order is

Like H said, upload the PSD here so we can have a look.

when you go to save it is the LAYERS icon box ticked to say yes?
