Is this okay for a beginner/what else can I do to it?

So, I took this image off of Facebook:

And took this photo of my friend:
IMG_0439.JPG
and I made this out of it:

How did I do? is there anything else that I could/should do?

Welcome.

Its good for a start. You managed to clone out the other girl and rebuild the background . Good job in adding a pot duplicate in front of car in the background.

Now you need to work on you. The lighting on you is off. you may have to blend your image in using Levels or brightness/contrast controls to match the tone with that of your girl.

Then , you need to soften your image edges. Right now, its a bit too sharp.

And work on the shadows.

A couple of real quick comments: The light is hitting the remaining girl from viewer's left, whereas it's hitting the boy's face from viewer's right. Everyone will notice this, even if only subliminally, and it defeats the illusion you are trying to create that it is a single photo. Also the relative sizes are off. The boy looks huge compared to the girl.
