Hey all,

I'm new here and looking for some thoughts that might be easy for you pros :-)

I have a map on my computer that is rather large and detailed. I want to print it out some I can work on it but I need to preserve the detail, such as being able to read the names of towns and such.

What I want to do is print it out on like 4 peices of paper so I can print them out and put them together to form a bigger map.

How would I go about doing that?

Thanks guys!

there maybe an automated version to this but this is how I do it
go to view > new guid you should get a box come up asking horizontal and vertical and a number
check the horizontal box and in the number type 50% you should get a blue line through the middle of the image
repeat this step and check the vertical box and 50% again you should now have a cross through your image
go to view once more and make sure snap is ticked
then simply select your crop tool and drag from corner of image until it snaps to 2 of your guide lines apply the crop file save image as top left for example once image is saved press ctrl + Z
you should have full image back repeat these steps 3 more times

Select the slice tool then right click the picture and select Divide Slice. Set it for 2 horizontal and 2 vertical. It will divide it for you into 4 pieces. You can save for web and it will put the slices in a folder, or use the rec marque tool to select each slice and save them manually.
