Heyhey...I missed this thread...
I'm more than very impressed with what you write. Looks superb...
Don't know whether you know, but there is now a VERY good and easy to use plugin to get poser files into cinema (8 and 9 versions). It's not free, but not expensive either, 30USD for the limited version (no P5 shaders, no anim translation), and imo more than worth its money. You can find it at
http://www.kuroyumes-developmentzone.com/interposer_ltd.html
on the same site you can find dropit, and droptofloor, two free plugins for cinema.
http://www.spot4d.co.uk/Plugins.asp
here you find easyclone, and some other super free plugins for cinema
whew...you know with which to start? I would be (in fact: I am still) overwhelmed by so many tools...

I will definitely look into all those links as I really don't have anything like those to use with C4D except just what it came with. I am just starting with beginning tutes now in C4D as I got a book called "The Cinema 4D R8 Handbook" by Adam Watkins, that I found through Amazon.com. This should be a good place to start at least. I have really just played with the ap and discovered its interface is pretty intuitive and easy to use (I like to just explore and see what kinds of things I can do and find with the aps before reading the manuals and tutes -- I'm a bit weird that way)and I have also gotten Silo (Very very FUN) which I think between the two of them ought to take care of teaching myself modelling techniques and giving me more ideas. I am using C4D's renderer for Silo. I have also to finally get into ZBrush2 which I loved playing with before I found my old puter couldn't deal with it. Right now I am just soooooo excited by what fun Vue4Pro is (and how nicely it plays with Poser5 -- whew, the incredible things that you can do with those plain old models! I love Vue! I haven't needed to even open the manual to figure out how to use it, for me it is just so intuitive) and plan to upgrade it to Vue5 Infinite when that comes out, and also get the upgrade to Terragen (I've just played with the recent version of Terragen and love it as well) also when it's finally released. There are a lot of aps for me to learn but it is all just so incredibly fun I can't stay away from it now for barely a moment! 8D
