Hello. I've a JPEG image (downloaded from the web), its size is 414 bytes. When I open it in Photoshop CS5, and save it with a different name (from "Save for Web.."), new image size is 1280 bytes!! In the "Save for web" panel, it shows image size is 380 bytes (photoshop says size will be 380 bytes, but when it saves, size is 1280 bytes) Why??? Can you help me??? [Sorry for my BAD English!]

You're kidding!....

No offence meant... was taken aback by how small the image was.

I couldn't seem to replicate what you could have done.... unless you can show us a screenshot of your save for web window.... maybe from there we can see what went on to do this....

Oh you're saving to JPG, I'm assuming to GIF.

Save for web strips the EXIF data, sets the resolution to 72-dpi, and converts the image to 8bit mode if it's not already.
It should be smaller.

I don't know.

Photoshop Save for Web CS3 or previous versions stripped the exif from the file, Photoshop CS4 and CS5 are different, only if you select NONE will the exif and PPI information will be stripped.
In this case you are retaining exif information as you have selected to keep Copyright and Contact Info.

Thanks Paul. When I removed metadata (Select "None"), file size decreased.

But a question, what is the metadata? and what is the difference between "None", "Copyright" and "Copyright and Contact Info"??

Metadata is information that is stored within the file, this information is generated by your camera.
The information can be viewed and some parts can be added/amended or removed.

To view the information in Photoshop
Open a photo, then File - File info...

Metadata can be very useful IE:
Add copyright information
Add keyword(s) so that the these can be selected/found in Bridge etc.
You can add information on where you took the photo/ by whom/ telephone number(s)/ Web sites. All sorts of information of your camera. etc. etc.
There are some cameras that will add GPS information so you know exactly where the photo was taken.

I'm not a web guy so I use Save for Web for an occasional animated GIF.
The option to strip the exif data was right there but it didn't click with me.
