Doc / Tool bars in CS5

I'm new to photoshop and I'm running CS5 on a 13" Macbook and i'm having trouble editing because of screen space. I realize how rudimentary this problem is, but I just want to move the tool bars at the top into a vertical position on the side. I can't seem to figure it out. The extra screen space would really help while editing portrait oriented pictures.

I'm not aware of a way to move it.
You can go to the Windows pull down and uncheck Options to turn it off.

I'm not aware of a way to make it horizontal, but you can make it only one column which saves a little space.
