Playing around with the zoom feature.

Made this with my little Nikon point and shoot, inspired by the Hollywood greats:mrgreen:

Trying to get the zoom out as i move inwards and the zoom in as i move away is the trick to it, both must be of the same speed.:banghead:

Looks good, Paul. yup, you're getting there.

I don't recall the Jaws scene where they used this zoom effect. But I bet the camera was mounted on a rig and that the crew manipulated the rig movements and zoom to match perfectly.



..... hmm... bet that would look cool (or funny) if a dog's or human's nose where the subject. Ahhhh... have someone hold out his arm with a thumbs-up sign and focus/zoom on that.....

Nice job, Paul. U just about nailed the effect perfectly.

I wonder if they still use a real person as the focus puller or if they now have replaced him with an automated, computer controlled system (like automated mixing consoles for music production where they can program in all the fader moves).

I'm not even going to ask if Paul could have used a "best boy", or any of the other crew, LOL.

Very cool affect Paul. I've seen the DZ in many of the older movies, I have always wondered how it was done. I would imagine it's all computer controlled nowadays.
