Removing flash background shadow

Hello,

Last week I shot a company event and didn't have an external flash or diffuser. This resulted in a very contrasty background shadow.

If it were just one shot, I would clone/stamp and be done; but I have about 25 shots to correct.

Any quick method to remove the shadow or at least reduce it's impact?

Photo below...

Thanks,

Wow I gave it a shot i see no easy way short of replacing background to solid color (different background)

Thanks. Hopefully the client can live with a few bad apples out of the couple of hundred shots.

depending how much time you want to spend on it open image duplicate it use magic wand or other selection tool to select background and shadows and blow it out with exposure then apply a layer mask and paint back in from the other image pieces that have been overexposed
here is a quick example that took less than 2 mins ps I also duplcated the end flattened image went to filter > other > high pass set pixe to 2 and applied it then set the grey layer blending mode to overlay just to sharpen it up a bit

Thanks Hoogleman. I'll keep your tips in mind. I need to maintain continuity with the previous night's shots (same background, better flash). So I'm going to bite the bullet and clone/stamp just the areas around the heads and right arm. I'll leave the lower shadows so I can at least finish. This will take longer but I want the shots to look good.
