Mercedes 350 SL 1980 "Restoration"

When I opened this barn, it was hard to tell that this was a Mercedes car.
I had only one thought, I had to do what ever was necessary to restore this car to its original state.
After a few hours of Photoshop work it looks brand new again.

I really like it Chris! Maybe break up the reflections on the chrome parts a little bit - the leaves in the gaps in the hangar would break up the light I think ;)

Thanks for your feedback BlueInGreen.
The car looks almost unnatural shiny and bright in this surrounding.

Hi Chris, I like the idea and concept.
The car looks a bit shiny and bright.
I took the liberty:

Thank you very much Eggy for your comment. I appreciate it.
For my taste your version is too dark now and the car lost most of its "charisma".

I know, but the hangar it is stacked in has not enough light to bring up the beauty of this car.
So I had to make a composite snapshot from the background, applied an average blur layer and used a blend mode (can't remember whitch one) to fit the car with the surrounding. That took away the 'shine' of the car.

Very nice Rajeev...cool job of you!

Thanks! But a small problem if you haven't noticed already : The driver will be sitting in the wrong place now. ;) The steering wheel has "moved" to the other side. lol.

I could've done the corrections, but the laziness got over me...

Don't worry about that. It all depends where you live. Many countries have left-hand traffic. others have right-hand traffic.

Nice job, but I'd rather restore it for real. Oh the and the old car too.

Sorry :)! Here is another attempt at restoring The Original Merc. :

Just a thought for those who have CC: isn't it possible to reposition the merc used by Chris with ' perspective warp' to fit the car over the original car?
I think this would give the picture a more smooth perspective look.
I can't do it, I have CS6 but I would like to see the result.

Hi Eggy
I've done my job just with CS6.
I have limited experience with perspective adjustments, and didn't use puppet warp.
It would be very cool if someone here could improve the composite in the way you suggest.

Hi Chris,
That's exactly what I mean. I'm using CS6 too. The puppet warp tool is not easy to handle in this case.
I saw some perspective warp tutorials but I'm curious to see this tool in action in this project.
