Try Inkscape, this from their website.
About Inkscape
"An Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Xara X, using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format.
Inkscape supports many advanced SVG features (markers, clones, alpha blending, etc.) and great care is taken in designing a streamlined interface. It is very easy to edit nodes, perform complex path operations, trace bitmaps and much more. We also aim to maintain a thriving user and developer community by using open, community-oriented development. "
Inkscape. Draw Freely.
Hey man.. are you joking with me or what???Because i registered there and i didn't see any AI topics and asked it there and they said it was an Inkscape forum and not an AI forum.. :s:s:s
No man, I wasn't joking with you.
You asked "does anybody know a similar Adobe Illustrator forum"
I read your message to quickly and thought you were asking for a "program" similar to Adobe Illustrator.
My mistake man.
Sorry man.
Hah ok man no problem though!
But i've found a site and i tried AI already but what is a huge benefit is that you don't have that much shapes and brushes as in PS.. you have to make most things by yourself????:s
You're right man.![]()
AI is worth keeping in you computer. It handles vector images very well. Around here, it's the norm to do things in PS and Corel and export them to AI for FA work.
very possible
Did you overlook the EXPORT>PATHS TO ILLUSTRATOR function? The file exported/saved is an AI file. Of course you can't open a psd layer file in AI (unless the newer versions can. I have an old version) Yes you can open AI files in PS.
Something has to be wrong with your AI. Try re-install?
Hold on... there was one time a few years back... I remember PS or Corel crashing after working with it for some time. The final crash spelled the end of my hard drive. At that time, I had one drive partitioned into 2 for OS and files.
